Can someone explain to me at the bottom of page 46, where is "which" and "isChecked" getting the value from?

Is there another beginners android 4 book that you guys recommend? I've also bought Pro Android 4 and that book wasn't good. Now I'm onto this book, but I wish things are better explained. What's the best resource out there for Android, assuming one already knows Java?

I've checked the book's sourcecode, doesn't say a thing.
