Again, I downloaded the source code into Eclipse and ran. The book implies that there should already be some sort of EMail application on the device (or, in the case, the emulator). However, when I hit the <Send Email> button, I got the following. . .

Is this a problem with the emulator?

I have the same problem as you. I wonder if you have to configure the emulator with and e-mail account. Try clicking on the Android Email app and configure an e-mail address. I tried and failed because I could not replicate my password.
