I am trying the getSharedPreferences tutorial, but keep getting this message: "Unfortunately, Test has stopped". i even copied the code right from this site. why isn't it working?

also, i went to file explorer to open the .txt file for the second example (files) and found the file, textFile.txt. I double-clicked on it, and nothing happens. isn't it suppose to open or something?
