Default Trouble just getting started...

Hi. I'm new to this forum so please bear with me while I try to get accustomed to the lay of the land here.

All that being said, here is my problem:
1. I bought the book (No Problem)
2. I started trying to install the "Required Tools" (No Problem)
A. Java JDK - Installed without a hitch. (No Problem)
B. Downloaded and extracted Eclipse IDE zip file for Java EE to c:\android as suggested in the book. (No Problem)
C. Download and extract Android SDK zip file... (Problem)
Oh,wait the Android SDK is no longer in a zip file. I hope this doesn't screw things up too much.

So I installed it and then things get even worse. Every time I try to install something from http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse I get some kind of dependencies error. (Problem)

Why can't I buy a development book for Android that does things exactly the way it's laid out in the book? Can I send this back to the publisher for a refund, or is there someone out there that can tell me exactly where I went wrong in the process and tell me how to fix it? I would love to just get beyond page 7 of chapter 1 of this book and have things work the way they should.

Hi jflora
Well it all went just fine for me, thank goodness. I would try deleting the Android SDK file and start over from there. Re-download it and see if you can get better results. I think it should be a zip file, although Eclipse may call it something else (jar). If the Android.jar file is not correct eclipse will complain about almost everything with android code.
