I m newbie in asp and this server stuff. After i instilled the MyTelephone.exe as instructed in Chapter 6, I am not able to connect to my server in internet explorer. It gives me the 502 bad gateway error msg. I have no idea what went wrong. Did the MyTelephone.dll cause this, or did I something else wrong? It work fine yesterday before i dl and instill the example in chaper 6. Does anyone know what went wrong? BTW, i m not sure if it really has anything to do with the MyTelephone.dll file.

I d't think it involved any code. I tried to open some examples i used before(which worked fine), I still get the 502 bad gateway message. I think the problem is that I can't connect to my server.
It happens after i installed the MyTelephone.exe example in chapter 6.

there is a "MyTelephone.exe" file, unzip that,
then, open setup.exe. It will install the MyTelephone.dll

hmm.....
IIS restart didn't work.
but I found out that it actially work, if i tpye in the ip addr instead of my computer's full name.

like this:
if i type something like "http://123.456.7.890/BEG/", i can open the page.
if i type something like "http://myComputer/BEG/", i get the 502 bad gateway message.

So now, my problem would be how i can change it back sothat i can use my computer name as the domain??

Edit the file HOSTS in NOTEPAD that resides under C:\WINDOWS_or_WINNT Folder\system32\drivers\etc folder and add a new line at the end of the file and add the following entry.
Save the file and try to browse with your computer name.

What do you see when you try to ping your computer by name, does that happen fine? Is that same as that you see when pinged with the IP?
