Default having problem installing SQL/MSDE

when i try to install MSDE from the office 2000 disk
i got the following message:
16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

I got the same message when i try to install MySQL too.

Does anyone know the reason of this problem?

I m using WindowsXP and IIS 5.1 and office xp pro.

that's all, thank you.
