Default Virtual Directory

I have a website hosted in house on a web server. I am just starting to learn about asp.

My problem is.. I connect to my website with MMC and follow the instructions on how to set up a virtual directory from the ASP 3.0 book.

I add the alias name and then the address to the page I want to display ... long name beginning with http://<IP address>/directory1/directory2/directory3/<mypage.html> .. I get a message that says "The path is not a fully qualified local path"

The path is to my webserver not my local machine.. how do I make it add the virtual directory to the website on the webserver?

Thanks!

In response to your query I think you are writing your path insted of Alias or may be you have a very long path check your spells that is one common mistake.
