Ch20: problem in Basic directory

Dear Programmers,
I have a problem in Ch20\Basic. While entering http://localhost/begASPNET/Ch20/Basic/, I get the following errors:

Line 1: <configuration>
Line 2: <system.web>
Line 3: <authentication mode="Windows" />
Line 4: </system.web>
Line 5: </configuration>

Pls solve my problem.
