Default Securing Web Service

Hi experts!
I am new to web services, and trying to understand the IBSN web service security sample code ( Beginning ASP.NET 1.1 with VB.net 2003, page 643). when I tried to enter the value for the password parameter , the value is visible . How can I make the password invisible/hidden for others???
