I messed something up.
I was fine the two days ago running my own code and the downloaded code in a web browser. now when i try to open one of the pages i get a 'server error in '/' application' description HTTP 404, in the web browser.
since the other day i have loaded vb.net 2003 and XP service pack 2.
do i need to start something up everytime i open Web Matrix?
i checked all my services and everything seems to be running.

Can you view a basic html file?

Service Pack 2, by default, turns on the Windows firewall. Check to make sure port 80 is open.

what i was doing is that when i started my web app in web metrix i was not starting it at the root of my file tree so it was opening at the chapter level and only at that level. once i opened it at the BegASPNEt11 folder everything started working.
