Default Chapter 2

Hello,

On page 36 "Try it Out" section it says open the sample site for this chapter located at 'C:\BegASPNNET2\Chapters\Begin\Chapter02'.... but then it immediately shows an image of the Wrox united site located at C:\Websites\United\ in figure 2-4 and 'Add Existing Item'.
This doesn't make sense.

Ok so I followed the "Try it Out" and just ignored the discrepancy above.

The next "Try it Out" says that it complements the previous exercise, so I presumed it would work with the files and work done in C:\BegASPNNET2\Chapters\Begin\Chapter02 but it doesn't - it seems to work with C:\Websites\WroxUnited\.

Michaelcode:
Perhaps your file/folder structure is incorrect: re Appendix B.
The structure should look like the following (assuming you built them on c: drive).
c: BegASPNET2 Chapters Begin Chapter01 Chapter01 files and subfolders
            Chapter02 Chapter02 files and subfolders
                ...
            Chapter16 Chapter16 files and subfolders
FinalApplication WroxUnited WroxUnited files and subfolders
                   ...
                   site.css
                   ...

When you start Try It Out p.36 Chapter02, display the project explorer and rightclick the project (uppermost line) and "select Add Existing Item..." as p.36 Try It Out Step 1 instructs.
What you are going to do is import (copy) from somewhere (anywhere in the
BegASPNET2 filefolder system) the site.css file and include it in the Try It Out.

As for Line 2. "Navigate to the folder...":
I got it from the \...\Begin\FinalApplication\WroxUnited\ folder, and copied it
into my Chapter02 project.

Good luck

VV

Victor my structure is correct.

The point I am making is that this is really ambiguous and it seems to switch from using C:\BegASPNNET2\Chapters\Begin\ChapterXX to C:\Websites\WroxUnited\.

Hopefully someone preferably can answer my original post.

Michael: I don't have an answer for you (sorry) but I have made sure this post is getting attention from the authors. They're busy for another couple of days finishing up a C# version of the code but if they get a minute or for sure when that is done, one of them will address this.
