Default Opening DB from VWD - per p. 683-684

I keep getting blocked when I try to open the Database Diagrams
for WroxUnited.mdf per the instructions on page 683-4 of Appendix D --even though I click 'yes' to being the dbo as instructed there.
The request just eventually times out.

Does anyone know how I can make myself the owner or otherwise
get around this.

Thanks for any help.
