Hello Group,

Under chapter 4, membership and identity, I am trying to create a user in ASP.NET web site administration tool, but it always comes out with this error message:
Password length minimum: 7. Non-alphanumeric characters required: 1.
Am entering a password with more than 7 characters and with numeric characters as well.
Tried it so many times. Looks like there is something wrong.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I got it to work. I think there was some problem with the computer. Restarted the computer and it worked.

I've got the same problem. I can't add a user because the password is not accepted. Although it's more then 8 chars long and has 1 numerical char.
I already restarted and re-opened the project but still the same result.
Is there anyone who can help me out? I've even tried adding a user in the end-chapter of chapter04 where there are already 2 users defined but same problem here.

I've found a way to proceed but strangely enough the error message I got before is not 100% correct.
If I type in a password like for example password123 then I get an error message saying the password should at least be 7 chars long and there should be at least 1 non-alphabetical char in it. A numerical char is non-alphabetical ... no?)
But if I type in a password like pass@word then it's ok and I can proceed?!?

Has anyone noticed this or is this just a temp-solution?

Yeah I've found the same thing using a non-alphanumeric character such as @ or _ works fine.

I also struggled with this Create User thing on p116, thinking that numeric keys were non-alphabetical. As soon as I tried '@' instead then the process continued as indicated in the book.
Perhaps non-alpha-numeric would be a better description?
