Default Microsoft SQL isapi extension ERROR - FIX

If you're using IIS instead of Cassini, and you get this error when loading your WroxUnited site:

ERROR: 400.100 Bad Request
HResult: 0x80004005
Source: Microsoft SQL isapi extension
Description: Query not specified

You might try deleting the virtual directory from "IIS Virtual Directory Management for SQLXML 3.0 tool." and adding it back using the IIS snap-in (Administrative Tools / IIS)

When you add the new virtual directory to the default web site, choose "Execute Permissions" in addition to the other default permissions.

I don't know why the SQLXML 3.0 tool causes this problem (for me), but I can reproduce it on two machines. In fact, on one machine I can have a good wroxunited site running on IIS, and a copy of it not running, when all folder permissions are the same. Boils down to SQLXML for me.

I'm using WinXP SP2, SQL Server 2005 Standard, and Visual Studio 2005 Professional
