If I test the query (SQL Data source) then I only receive 1 entry while on the page itself there are multiple entries.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I'm guessing that you're using the VB version of the book here. There are number of corrections for the chapter you're working on listed here - http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...ew_errata.html - but looking through other queries about the same thing, it would seem that the database itself only has one entry. Hence you get only one entry.

I guess the screenshot may have been taken using a previous version of the database or the one used in the full wrox united site. A quick way to check would be to open the database (in the Server Explorer of VWD if you're
using that and checking the contents of the Gallery table.
