Default VWD Formatting Toolbar Issue

Hi -

When I started #5 on page 86, I found that my VWD (2008 Express Edition) formatting toolbar was fully visible, but grayed out and all buttons and options on it were deactivated and unresponsive. I can't seem to get the bar to "turn on".

I've restarted VWD, rebooted my computer (Vista), opened other documents in VWD, and it is just "off" all the time.

Any pointers to help me get back on my way?

Thanks,
Gerry

Hi Gerry,

Is the correct document (an .aspx or ascx file) open in the IDE? And did you switch that document in Design View?

Argh. My bad - I constantly interpret "design view" as "code view" in my head because in my current web programming job, I "design" sites through coding. Once I clicked the "design" button everything was OK. Sorry for wasting your time. I suppose my punishment was the hour I wasted searching the Web for answers to a non-existent problem
