Hi Imar,

Apologies for returning, but just to finish this topic off, I posted to the Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Forum regarding this issue and there was an interesting reply which confirms my own experience.

If you are interested look at http://forums.asp.net/t/1515153.aspx

Thanks for the follow up. Are you going to report this on the Connect web site?

Imar

Hi Imar,

Apologies for not responding earlier. For your information I have indeed reported the possible bug in VWE to MS and this has been acknowledged as
Microsoft Connect - Visual Studio and .NET Framework -: Feedback item 525504 Comment or Request for Information, Possible bug in VWD Express when inserting DDL in Wizard.

Clearly this is an automated response so I suspect no more will be heard of the issue, which I managed to replicate in a number of ways as I recorded in
http://forums.asp.net/p/1515153/3622702.aspx#3622702.

That's usually not the case. The automated response is just to acknowledge they received your message. Afterward, they'll follow up with either a staus (bug, can't repro etc) or a request for more information.

FYI: I can finally repro the problem on my system. I guess the "new page" caught me. The problem is gone in Visual Studio 2010....

Cheers,

Imar

Hi Imar,

FYI, After responding to a couple of follow-up contacts from Microsoft, I received the following:

This notification was generated for feedback item: Possible bug in VWD Express when inserting DDL in Wizard. which you submitted at the Microsoft Connect site.

Thanks for your feedback.

We are rerouting this issue to the appropriate group within the Visual Studio Product Team for triage and resolution. These specialized experts will follow-up with your issue.

At least they are looking at it, even though VWD2008 will soon be superseded.
