Default No word wrap

In looking at the managment section of the planet wrox site and when you enter text into say the My Profile page, the text doesn't wrap in the message box instead it just continues along horizontally.

Is there anyway to avoid this?

Hi Will,

What TIO / ASPX page name, page number / chapter is this about? Without that, it's a little hard for me to see what's going on.

Did you set TextMode="MultiLine" on the TextBox (if this is even about a TextBox)?

Sorry I wrote the post in a rush. It isn't a TIO. But I was just looking at the finished Planet Wrox website that I built, I was on the page which lets you edit information about your profile and your music likes dislikes etc.

When you enter information into the textboxes unless you start a new line by pressing enter yourself it just keeps on typing onto the same line adding a horizontal scroll bar. Is this correct? If I have forgotten to put it on multi-line (I can't check now, not at home) does that solve the problem?

Sorry I can't be more specific without looking at the book or the site myself.

The default behavior of a textarea (which is what an TextMode="MultiLine" results in) is to wrap; simple text boxes (input type="text") don't. Check out the contact form of http://www.planetwrox.com to see the difference.

Cheers,

Imar
