Chap 16 pg 562 MyProfile does see web.config

Hello,

I have entered the code as per pg 562 in the web.cpnfig but for some reason VWD doesn't seem to detect the FirstName and LastName variables.

I noticed that when I built the web site for some reason it has a lot of things referring to .net v 2.0 framework. As far as I knew I was using 3.5.

Below is an example

Hi there,

ASP.NET 3.5 uses the same run-time as ASP.NET; as such you find a lot of references to .NET 2.0

Can you please, please, please use the Remove Text Formatting button when you post code here? I asked this a number of times before, but somehow the code still ends up broken. Notice how all the spaces are gone, making the posted code useless.

Are you sure you chose a Web Site Project and not a Web Application Project when you started this site? Profile is not supported in a WAP.

Each web form only has one code behind. There is no .designer file

I went back into the code that I posted and removed text formatting.

Nope, once the code is messed up, it stays messed.

Take a look at the source and you'll see all spaces are still gone....

Hi again,

Take another look at the Favorites list:

<add name="FavouriteGenres" type="System.Collections.GenericList'1[System.Int32]" />

It's not GenericList, but Generic.List. Also, the character is not a ' but a ` (on my keyboard shared with the ~ next to the 1 but that may be different on your keyboard.
