deny users="?" is not working
Hi....
I have created a "Login" Folder which contains "Default.aspx" , "Cofirm.aspx" , "SignUp.aspx" and "MyProfile.aspx"....
In the web.config file i have added this code :
<location path="~/LogIn/MyProfile.aspx">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="?"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
Even then, the "MyProfile.aspx" is accessable to all the users...
It is not getting restricted to the logged in users...
Below is my websites complete web.config contents:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0"?>

Hi there,
Try dropping the ~/ from the path attribute:
Code:
<location path="LogIn/MyProfile.aspx">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="?"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
Hope this helps,
Imar

thanks
thanks Imar...
I did as u said...
I changed the code as you said to
Code:
<location path="LogIn/MyProfile.aspx">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="?"/>
</authorization>
</system.web>
</location>
Now it is showing this error:
Server Error in '/WebsiteName' Application.
-------------------------------------
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /WebsiteName/login.aspx
------------------------------------------
But i am having my Login page under LogIn directory as : /WebsiteName/LogIn/Default.aspx
I have not created any "login.aspx" under root itself....
I want MyProfile.aspx to be redirected to "/WebsiteName/LogIn/Default.aspx" if the user is anonymous...
Thanks for replying and helping me out....

You need to set the loginUrl in the <forms /> element if you're using a non-standard Login URL (anything other than Login.aspx in the logical root of your application):
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/1d3t3c61.aspx
Cheers,
Imar
