Default How to change the programming language

Hello everyone,
I have just started Chapter 5-Programming. I have used VB as my prgramming language in all the files I have created till now.
My question is-To change my programming language to C# for all the files created,do I have to create the site again or can I continue with some files in C# and some in VB.Is there a way I can simply change the programming language?

Hi there,

The easiest thing to do is to download the code for the book: http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...-DOWNLOAD.html and get yourself a copy of the Chapter 4 C# folder as a starting point for Chapter 5.

You can't easily mix two languages (you can do it, but it requires configuration in the web.config file to point sub folders of App_Code to a specific language / compiler) and you'll run into problems with duplicate file names as well. So, if this is about learning both languages at the same time, two projects side by side is the way to go (that's how I wrote the book; I had a C:\BegASPNET and a C:\BegASPNETVB folder).

Hope this helps,

Imar
