Question uploading website on server

Hi there
I am new to p2p forums and was not sure where to post my query. So posting it here

I have finished a website with the help of book 'Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 IN C# AND VB'

Now i want to upload it to server using FTP.

I have tried the copy website option from visual web developer express 2008
but it asks for username and password and when i fill in the information it says the username or password does not match or you are not authorised to perform the operation

I am new to asp.net. I seek help from the book as well but didn't discuss about configuring a site with windows 7

And also is it possible to upload website to server using ftp with cPanel?

Any help would be highly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Windows 7 wasn't out when this book was published, so it was a bit difficult to discuss it ;-)

Anyway, there shouldn't be much of a difference. The versions of IIS and security settings are pretty much the same on Vista and Windows 7.

Can you try another (random) FTP account you have available? This should work, so you may need to ask your remote host for the proper settings.

Cheers,

Imar
