I have reached the stage of testing the Site by http://localhost.

However although I can login with my development prog. it does not seem to recognise the same login in Production.

could this be due to file permissions?

What exactly are you referring to? The accounts you set up using the Web Site Administration tool? If that's the case, your production site is probably using a different aspnetdb.mdf database.

Cheers,

Imar

Hi Imar

thanks for the reply. I have re done accounts and permissions aspects of the website and all is working correctly now.

I think I need to find a general overview of the relationships between accounts, ASP.NET,IIS etc.and wondered if you have any links on the subject.

I also have the website installed on two local machines XP and Vista, tried to access one site from the other without success. I use http://dell-pc/Default Web Site. Pinging the PC's works.
Is this possible?

cheers,

Hi there,

For IIS related security stuff, check out www.iis.net or this book: http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...470097825.html

For Membership related stuff, this book could come in handy: http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...470379308.html (Note: haven't read it, but its previous edition targeting 2.0 was really good).

Cheers,

Imar
