Default MasterPage requesting data...

After adding the jQuery script in chapter 10, I now have a constant mouse pointer with the blue circle when in Design View on the MasterPage and Requesting Data... on the IDE footer. The same is true when I run the site from the downloaded code so it wasn't a typo on my part.

I've searched the web for an answer for VS 2013 Web Express, but the only references were to VS 2008-2010: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...637088#7637088

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in answering. I was traveling with no time for e-mail.

It's an odd issue that I haven't seen before. Did you apply the latest service releases for Visual Studio? If you have, and the problem persists, I would suggest you report a bug at https://connect.microsoft.com/

Cheers,

Imar

Thanks for replying Imar.

I would have been happy if the code didn't compile, but when it did and the site ran as advertised I was really confused.

I resolved the issue by deleting my version of the web site and using the one from the Source folder. Althought this didn't work at first, I found that by closing VS 2013 and rebooting my computer everything sorted itself out.

Lesson learned was that it is very easy to miss something even after reviewing the code line by line.

Thanks for writing such a great book!
