The web.sitemap file created on p245 contains extensionless URLs. However extensionless URLs are not set up until p261. As a consequence navigation via controls using web.sitemap is broken until extensionless URLs are set up. I note that in the errata there is a note that .aspx extensions need to be removed from the listing on p245. It looks like this has already been done in the print copy that I have and this is what caused my navigation to break.
The best solution would be for the installation of the Friendly URLs package to be carried out before the web.sitemap (without extensions) is created.
