Default Is just me or what?

I don't maybe I am missing something here or I am mistaken, but when I download the code files for your book, I can't seem to find any .sln or solution files for the application. As I recall in the past, if I am not mistaken, when I have downloaded Wrox book code in the past they usually always include the Visual Studio.net solution files with the code.

That's correct. The book uses a Web Site Project (as opposed to a Web Application Project) that doesn't use a central project file (vbproj or csproj) which in turn means it doesn't need a sln file to manage the projects. You can simply open a site by opening a folder through File | Open Website.
