Default Chapter 3 and the real world

In chapter 3 you define, step by step, the layout of the Planet Wrox Homepage. In chapter 6, the layout is then transferred to the master page.

But in a real world application, how you define the layout of your site ?
I suppose you do not re-invent the wheel all the time.
I think you choose the most suitable layout in a basket of, maybe, 100 templates.

It looks like one can find free and not-free layout online.
Can you give us some good tips ?

Thank you

For many professional web sites, we do start from scratch every time. The design dictates the layout which is pretty much always custom to a specific client or web site project.

For some standard HTML templates, check out sites such as www.freecsstemplates.org.
