Default Going Obsolete?

In your opinion is there the possibility that the technology that you are teaching in your book, ASP.NET web forms, could be rendered obsolete by the onslaught of Microsoft's push towards MVC and mobile web-phone development strategies?

I doubt this will happy any time soon, if at all. Microsoft still heavily invests in Web Forms, and given that the majority of ASP.NET developers (60 to 70% I believe) uses Web Forms over MVC, obsoleting it would be a big mistake.

Cheers,

Imar
