Default Updatine MyBasePage.aspx

Imar,

If I make a change to the frontend.master file should that show up in the MyBasePage file? When I added the contentplaceholder cpClientScript to the master page I don't see it when I create a new aspx page using MyBasePage.

Do I need to redo the process of creating the BasePage?

Thanks,
John

Hi there,

Take a look at page 228. It says:

Quote:
If you need to make a change to the exported template, either redo the entire export process, or manually edit the files in the zip file.
When you export a template, VS creates a ZIP file which gets stored under your Documents folder. This file is NOT updated when you make changes to the master page. Instead, you need to redo the exercise to create the template, or manually update the files in the ZIP file.

Hope this helps,

Imar

Hi Imar,

I did see that but when you had us to add the cpClientScript contentholder to the master page, you didn't mention to update the zip as your directions are so very well detailed I wasn't sure.

I kind of thought that was the case, just wanted to make sure.

Thanks,

John

I considered that covered with the remark in Chapter 6 but I see how a reminder in Chapter 11 can be helpful.

Cheers,

Imar
