Default Skins, button and themes in Chapter 6

Hi again, Imar,

I'm having difficulties with the Try it Out that's on p 247. As long as the Button.Skin is in the Monochrome directory, the button is blue whether I have the theme set to Monochrome or DarkGrey. It doesn't matter which theme it starts with, the button is blue. If I move the Button.skin file to where it shouldn't affect anything (for instance, to the Demos directory) then the button goes back to being grey in both themes.

(some time spent playing with it)

Now I find out If I move Buttons.skin to the DarkGrey directory, then it works so the button is blue in DarkGrey theme, grey in Monochrome theme. Move it back to Monochrome directory and it's blue in both themes. (There is only ONE Button.skin, I'm moving, not copying it.) Curious

The next Try It Out using the RedButton does the same thing. Buttons are Blue, Red for both themes if Button.skin is under Monochrome, but Switch as expected if .skin file is under the DarkGrey. Thankfully this is the end of the chapter! (grin)

OK. Apparently it was a conflict between using both theme and styleSheetTheme in my web.config file. deleted the styleSheetTheme and it's apparently working. Except of course, that my DesignView isn't anymore. Oh, well.

Yes, that's by design / an unfortunate side effect.

Cheers,
