Default ASP.NET 4.5 on VSEW2013

I installed VSEW2013 on my computer and am following the Beginning ASP.NET 4.5 in C # and VB book and the Try it outs from this book. Can I continue working on VSEW2013 or is it necessary to install VSEW2012 to follow this book. I am running Windows 8.1.

Yes and no. A lot is the same, but there will be differences. For example VS 2013 no longer has the Build Style dialog or built-in tools to manage users. You can search this forum for some other things that users ran into, and you can of course always post here when you get stuck.

Alternatively, install VSEW 2012 side by side (works without issues), follow the book, and then build your own sites using VS 2013.

Hope this helps,

Imar
