Default Dutch edition ?

Hallo Imar,

I bought your book. But my English is not so good.
Do you think about a Dutch edition of your book?

With regards,
Gio

Hi Gio,

No, sorry, AFAIK, there are no plans for a Dutch version of the book. I think that market is a bit too small to justify the work needed for a translation....

Je kan me natuurlijk altijd wel inhuren voor een privé training (in het Nederlands!!) via http://devierkoeden.nl ;-)

Groeten,

Imar

Imar's right, no Dutch translation on the way. Can either of you tell me though, do you see many programming books in Dutch? In my many years in computer publishing, I don't think any of my books have ever been translated into Dutch. Maybe the assumption is most Dutch speakers also have great (or good enough) English skills?

Hi Jim,

Long time no speak ;-)

Yes, I do see Dutch computer books, but not many. Most of them tend to be in the "Getting started" or "Dummies" area. I think that makes sense as learning a completely new concept in a foreign language may be harder than it needs to be.

Yes, I think that's part of the reason / problem. In addition, there aren't that many of us so the market is pretty small. I think bestsellers here sell a few thousand copies only.

I thought I recall having seen an old Wrox book on classic ASP in Dutch. However, Google doesn't know anything of it (anymore) so maybe I was just imagining it...

Italian translations of many Wrox books are available from Hoepli:
http://www.hoepli.it/home.asp

I don't see that they have any Italian edition of Imar's Beginning ASP.NET 4 book but they do have our more advanced Professional ASP.NET 4 book translated:
http://www.hoepli.it/libro/aspnet-4-...8820345532.asp

Hope this helps.
