Compile errors

I have downloaded, unzipped, and pulled the 'Final' folder into VS2010. I must be missing something because when I 'build' I get lots of errors. The first one being 'Type BasePage is not defined', followed by 'Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable...'.

Did I miss something in the setup?

Hi there,

Can you describe your physical folder structure on disk, and the steps you take to open the site in Visual Studio (including the folder you're opening and the way you open the site)?

I was trying to get going quickly on the ADO.NET and database stuff but apparently need to slow down. Went back near the beginning of the book and found I need to create a web site project. Then work forward through the book adding pieces to it. I'm hoping by the time I get back to the database stuff my compile errors will be gone. One error that still puzzles me is the 'using PlanetWroxModel'. Don't know where that is to come from. Can you tell me where that namespace will come from?

Hi there,

If you follow the instructions in the Introduction section of the book, you should be able to open the Final folder and run the complete site without compilation errors.

The PlanetWroxModel namespace is created by the Entity Framework model, introduced in Chapter 14.
