Default Chapter 14 Exercise 3 and solution.

Hello Imar.
Im new to asp.net and web design. But find this book very good.
Question : Im using 3 photo albums with 9 thumbnails per page and 15 to 18 photos in each album, so the Datapager control is used. To get a full picture I have used your solution to excercise 3 on page 747. All is working ok. My problem is getting back from picturedetails.aspx to the Photo album and page from which I selected the thumbnail so I can select another thumbnail from that same page and album to see another large picture. Tried lots of ways but a obvious lack of skill prevents success. A simple button and postbackurl to Default.aspx just gets me back to the First album in the dropdownlist and the first page.
Any suggestion would be grateful.

Hi there,

The pictures are paged within an AJAX UpdatePanel. Its state is lost when you move away from and then return to the page. You could remove the pannel, or implement some sort of state mechanism, such as the history control: http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&h...44f36fad879a72

Hope this helps,

Thanks for your time and pointing me in the right direction. I will now get to grips with the History control. Thanks again.
