Default Unsure about a "Try It Out" step (p. 234)

Just got to the second "Step 4" on p. 234, which says:

"Make sure you base it on the exported template you created earlier."

I know I should know what that means, but I'm drawing a blank.

If it means using "Select web form" then I'm not sure what file to choose from what folder on which to base SkinsDemo.aspx.

If it doesn't mean using "Select web form" then I'm in the market for a big clue.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Take a look at page 214 and further, the section "Creating Reusable Page Templates" to see how the template was created. This is your own customized Web Form template.

Cheers,

Imar

Default Follow-up to my own question

I see MyBasePage that comes up in the list when I'm adding the new item to be called "SkinsDemo.aspx". Am I just supposed to select MyBasePage from the list instead of selecting Web Form?

Just unsure of the wording "base it on the exported template you created earlier" and how to do that.

Yes, correct. On page 214 and further you created a new web form and customized it to suit your needs. You then exported the template after which it becomes available as a template in the Add New Item dialog, similar to how the standard Web Form template is there.

Cheers.
