How is this related to the book Beginning ASP.NET 4 : in C# and VB?

Also, in general, cross posting, even over multiple forums, is considered a bad practice.

Cheers,

Imar

As the books name suggest "Beginning ASP.NET 4 in C# and VB" and my post contains ASP.Net namely the <asp:Gridview>, <asp:UpdatePanel>, VB.Net code and so on one would have think THIS book had to do something with ASP.Net and VB. That is why I asked for help on this forum.

Looks like this books title is misleading as apparently some ASP.Net controls are not covered in this book.

Thank you for letting me know and no need to reply as I am termination my account on this site.

Wow, you're easy to upset.

Your logic is wrong. Yes, the book is about ASP.NET but that doesn't mean everything related to ASP.NET fits in this book's forum category. This forum category is meant for questions about this book, not for general ASP.NET questions (just as your MSDN post shouldn't have been posted in the VB category, but in the ASP.NET category. Yes, it's about VB, but a general ASP.NET forum makes a lot more sense).

For general ASP.NET questions, Wrox has a number of other, on-topic forums, all listed here: http://p2p.wrox.com/asp-net-4-539/

My recommendation would have been to post in the General ASP.NET category. By posting there, you attract more viewers, increasing your chances on an answer. At the same time, people who do have the book and want to ask a question about it will find it easier to find on-topic questions and answers in the book's own forum.

Is that so hard to accept?

Imar
