More Help with chapter 15

I am working on the try it out Hand-Coding Data Access Pages

when I try to connect the DropDown list to the EntityDataSoucre control I get an error message that read as follows

What happened here everything was working fine just a minute ago at a loss here.

Some thoughts do I need to registar my version of SQL Express? (I do not think I am over the 30 day limit also I can long into the database using SQL Managenment Studio no problem and I also noticed there seems to be a probelm with the enity database in SQL itself no access to any of the tables it is like it knows that the database is there but can not see it. In my database Exploer window i can see it just fine and cann access all the tables. When i try to run one of my other pages that where working before like the all photos album i get the same exception in the brower window do you have any clue what I need to do here?

Do you still have this problem? It's odd that you can see the tables but run into this error when you try to use the EF designer. is NONE-E81F1BF7DC\MyUsername the actual account you use to log in to Windows?

Also, did you attach the database to SQL Server or are you running it from App_Data?

Which 30 days are you talking about? SQL Express is free and should never expire.

Have you tried running SQL Server Management Studio as an Administrator? (Right-click and choose Run As Administrator).

So I am taking out time from my busy schedule to let everyone know what happened.

I never did get that database to work again. I ended up deleting it altogether.

Then I went to my App_Data folder and right clicked on it and choose add existing item.

I then added my Database from the downloaded location on my E: drive same is my Data connection.

Then I went back and redid all the database connections from chapter 14 and 15.

That made it work and now I have only one data base and not two identical ones.

From what I can tell the problem came from the earlier try it out Handling Errors when Deleting Rows. When I followed the instructions as laid out in there and went to delete a row that had a connections to reviews I got the red error message but is some how corrupted my database and also never closed the connection made to it. So given the license restrictions I believe in SQL express, you can only have one connection open at a time, I could not reconnect to the database to see what happened.

That shouldn't be the case. Restrictions for SQL Express revolve around database size and hardware support, and as far as I know, you can have asnmany connections open to the same server as you want (many of my production sites share the same SQL Server Express instance).

It seems something somehow got courrupted, but it's hard to tell what....
