An application has been created which requires a user to be authenticated against Active Directory before granting the user access to the application. What .NET authentication method would you choose in this case? Why would you choose this authentication method? Do you not use LDAP methodology for authentication? What is the role that LDAP is currently playing in the most recent version of ASP.NET 4.0 ?

I was just curious why LDAP subject was not being broached in your book, is it because it is a .NET 2.0 methodology that is more or less obsolete with 4.0?

Too many topics to cover :-)

Maybe the Pro book has more on this but I am not sure....
