Hi Imar,

I started working on the first exercise in this chapter and noticed that I could not "view in browser" as usual because the app_offline.htm file was added to my root directory.

It works fine after I remove this file, but I don't know how it got there? Not sure why this would happen, but could any of the database things I was doing have added the app_offline.htm file to the root directory automatically?

Hi Tulsi,

VWD creates this file when you work with your database to unload the site and release any locks. It should normally delete it again as well, but sometimes it doesn't. Take a look here for a (slightly outdated) explanation: http://imar.spaanjaars.com/369/why-d...xpress-edition
