Default Listing 14-1 Help

Hi,

I'm having some trouble with the create database project.

Two things, actually:
1. The program gives me an error when I try to create a DB that says the "Class is not registered". I have no idea what to make of it.

Thinking I'd fix it after seeing that ADO Ext. 2.8 had an updated 6.0 version, I changed the selection to 6.0, but that's led to the second issue:

2. The line ADOX.CatalogClass myCat = new ADOX.CatalogClass(); in clsdb.cs
is being underlined by intellisense and giving me the following error: "Interop type 'ADOX.CatalogClass' cannot be embedded. Use the applicable interface instead." I thought going back to ADO Ext. 2.8 would rectify this, but it doesn't.

And now I can't do anything.

Please help!

Default DB issues

I'm in FL on vacation and don't have access to "my stuff". However, if you are using Visual Studio 2010 or later, the Access jet engine that the DB examples are based on has been removed. The new version of the book (with the red trumpet on the cover) has totally redone the DB chapters to use Microsoft's Sequel Server instead. While I feel badly that you're having problems, the only solution is trying to adjust the code for MSS, or spring for the $22 Amazon is charging for the new book. I'll take a peek at the code when I get home and see if there's anything else I can do.
