Default source code examples and Eclipse 3.1.1

I'm just a newbie, so pardon me if I can't get chapter3 built. Can't find chapter2.Util class. So, I add...

import chapter2.Util; /* doesn't do the trick */

Now get error:

The import chapter2.Utils conflicts with a type defined in the same file.

Hello of a way to run a railroad.

Funnily enough I developed the examples under eclipse. You'll find the reason for the error is that the chapter3.Utils class can't find its parent chapter2.Utils. This can happen if eclipse is confused about what source files are meant to be involved in the compilation.

The easiest way to avoid this is to have all the chapters in a single project with a separate folder from the project folder used as the root directory of the source tree. If this is done all the chapters should compile nicely.

Regards,

David
