How to simulate ECDLP?

Dear Sir,
I need some guideline to simulate the EC Discrete Logarithm Problem to prove that reverse process (i.e. finding k given Q & P where Q=kP) is much time consuming than the normal calculation.

Would you please give me some tips whether it is possible to simulate ECDLP in current ECDH algorithm or do i need any other tools?
