Default Chapter 8 calculator

Greetings :)

I am working my way through the book and have a problem in Ch 8. I cannot get the calculator.asp file to work,I have done the tutorial 3 times carefully following the instructions and it will not work . I then downloaded the book files and the file in there doesnt seem to work - I hit the submit button and I get page cannot be displayed

Anybody else have any problems or is it just me!

Hi there,

It looks like you have "friendly HTTP error messages" enabled, so you don't get the full error description.

Here's what you should do to get more informative error messages:

1. Open IE, open Tools | Internet Options and then on the Advanced tab, deselect Show Friendly HTTP error messages.

2. Run the page. There should be more error information (probably an error 500 message).

3. Post the error message here so we can take a look at it.

If that doesn't help, can you post the (modified?) code for the page and a description of your system (OS, webserver (IIS or PWS), and so on.)

I just ran the calculator.asp and it runs fine.

Cheers,

Imar
