Can you help me with my web site?

I have gotten myself into trouble.
I have promised to build a web site for my son who is doing a charity walk. 630 miles.
He is currently away on Holiday with his mother, returns on Tuesday when the website is supposed to be completed.
I have recently started learning how to create web sites and am still at the simple tables. I have not been able to devote as much time as I would wish to the study side. I run my own business and there is always something to do and not enough hours in the day. Not much CSS. Not much PHP. Using Beginning Dreamweaver MX 2004 which is excellent.

None the less I have made my offer.

I am hoping against hope that someone will have a database which I can pop in so to speak. I am not looking for any e-commerce as my son feels that any sponsorship money should be sent to his headmaster who is acting as trustee and will hold any money until the walk is completed.

What I Need is
• Ability for the user to enter their contact details.
• Details of the sponsorship terms
• So much per mile…(630) enter amount which comes to £ calculated.

• a simple sponsored amount
• Automatic response e-mail to the sponsorer confirming their offer of sponsorship and which will request they confirm their sponsorship by e-mail before it can be accepted.
• A database which will hold this information and which I can copy into Excel which I am more familiar with.

Looking at this request I realise that it is a bit much to ask and many of you will think it a bit rich and tell me where to go. So be it.

The charities involved are http://www.shelterbox.org/f_intro.html which is local to where he lives. He will be carrying one of their boxes during the walk (empty). Or I will as I hope to keep him company for a week. Read about them. They are excellent. And http://www.raleigh.org.uk/ that send people to do excellent and needed work in less developed parts of the world.

Hi Jacky,

I think you were right when you said this would be a bit much to ask. I think your requirements are pretty specific, so I don't think there is someone with a readily available solution.

However, you have the Beginning Dreamweaver MX 2004 book, and much of what you ask is covered in later chapters (chapter 11, 12 and 13). They cover using databases extensively, providing you with loads of examples that explain how to build the solution you requested here. With a couple of hours of hard work and studying, you should be able to build something like this with ASP and an Access database.

I don't have the time (nor the desire, if you don't mind) to build the entire application for you, but with the book and this support forum I think you should be able to create such an application over this weekend.
