Default Looking For search.fla

On Page 524, paragraph 3, line 6, column 15, under the heading Adding a Search Field Using Flash MX 2004, of the book Beginning Dreamweaver 2004, you mentioned that I can find the source code of search.fla in the download. Which Folder this search.fla located? I look every where but no search.fla to be found. Please help!

Hi there,

The .fla is indeed not added to the code download. Do you really need the .fla file, or is the .swf enough?

Otherwise, look at the code downloads for the MX (not the MX 2004) version of the book. The download for chapter 15 to 19 do have the search.fla file.

Cheers,

Imar

Thanks for your immediate response. Yes, sir .swf should be enough but I also need the search.fla file because I am curious and dying to know how it is done.

With your recommendation, I went to the DreamweaverMX page code download but the the download for this code has no link in it. I guess someone took it away? What should I do?

Hello,

The link in your response has the correct download link of course (that's the place where I went). But only the heading Download and its content download code is there. The Download - download code has no link.

What I meant with link is that, when I put my cursor on the download code, my cursor doesn't change to a pointing finger. Usually with my experience, if a certain word or group of words has coded link, my cursor will change into a pointing finger.

In addition, when this finger is pointing or above the linked word or words, the status bar below will tell me where the page the link is going. For example, when I point my cursor to the Archives link on the left side of this page, the status bar tells my that Archive is linked to the page located at (http://p2p.wrox.com/archive/). So when I click the link either a dialog box will pop up or another window.

But in the case of the Download-download code on the DreamweaverMX page- the word download code is there but it has no linked code it. I hope I am using the right description. Please try your link. If there is a link then accept my apology maybe its my computer.

Thank you once again of your help.

What you describe makes sense, and is absolutely true. However, the non-link you're trying to click is a selected menu item to indicate you're on the downloads page. The other links (About this book etc) bring you to other pages.

However, below the menu you see this:

Download Size

Download code 1.60 MB HTTP | FTP

If you click HTTP or FTP, you should get the download for the book.

Opps! my bad...(a kind of embarrassing moment :}
As an excuse...(defense mechanism)
I should say,
I did not look that far to my right
My window when it is opened was 200 x 200
too small to see the http | ftp
I am used on seing the other downloads
Wheew!
What's wrong with me!

Anyway,
Thank you very very much!
This will end my quest to find the .fla
bye for now...
