Did you switch it to the Forms category?

And were you able to sort out the problems with the events? I never saw a reply....

Hi Thanks for the reply. After step 3 on that page, in code view my cursor is positioned just following the 'name="frmSubmit">x ie where the x is. when I click the insert, the one after file, edit, view I get the following options tag, image, image objects, media, table, table objects, layout objects, form, hyperlink email link, named anchor date comment html template ovjects application objects, asp objects, customize favorityes, get more objects..... I see no text field choice ..all is just like the book up until that point. On the events, since part of my stuff worked, i went on, trying to make some progress thinking that I would deal with that problem later. as such, I am now on the soccer site. so the event prob may come up again later. I am not sure what you mean by switching to forms category unless you mean switching to the forms under the common drop down list. when I do that, i see a text field button, the second one, but the instructions refer to a textfield button on the insert tool bar. please elaborate thanks again dls

Hi Dennis,

Isn't that the same?

The whole toolbar is called the Insert bar (different from the Insert main menu). By default, the Insert bar is in "common mode", showing you common things you can add.

When you switch it to Forms by mode (by clicking Common and then choosing Forms from the list) you put it in Forms mode, so you can get a "textfield button on the insert tool bar".

Does this help?

Have fun with the Soccer Site!!

Hi Imar Yes thanks, that helps. I didn't realize that all the options on the "common" etc bar were called the insert bar. Upon rereading 28-30 I now get a little clearer. A lot of the terminology is new to me and I am still foggy on a lot of it. I did not realize or think it was the same. oh well, onward and upward dls

Yeah, I know. There is a lot of terminology and some of it is quite confusing at times....

If I am not mistaken, there's a UI overview picture at the beginning of the book that explains most of the important terminology. I don't have the book right here, so I can't check if the Insert bar is explained though...
