Percentages over pixels in font size
On chapter 10 page 424, it is mentioned that "Internet Explorer
does not allow users to resize text when its size is specified in pixels." I tried to zooming into the page using IE and (Ctrl+=) and the font were larger though it was coded in px. Is there any other way of re-sizing the page in IE which John is talking about?
Secondly, in the eg where he uses percentages to size the font, he mentions that 16 px is the default font size in browsers. He get the percentage of body which is 75% of 16 px. But in h1 h2 and h3 he estimates the percentage with 12 px and not 16 px. Otherwise the h3 should have been 100% and not 133%. Why did he do so?
Please respond!
Thanks in advance.
