Question Chapter 2: Xcode cannot find the software image to install this version.

To add a splash screen (pg.37) I connected the iPhone to my Mac, with Xcode already launched, and got the following error: "Xcode cannot find the software to install this version" below the details of the iPhone - including the version which is 4.2.1. What does this message mean exactly - that I need to upgrade the iPhone?

Default

All I can say that with my up-to-date iphone I can add the splash screen using xcode4 (see other thread below). I think for development purposes it is advisable to have iphone and xcode up to date at all times.

Default Splash screen still not working (version 4.3.3)

Since my previous post, I've upgraded to 4.3.3 and no longer get the same error. My iPhone appears on the left under Devices with the message "This device is connected and ready for use by Xcode" and summary info on the right. But there's no "Use for Development" button and there are no images under Screenshots - despite there being hundreds of images on my iPhone.
