No, there's no Beginning Java 2 JDK 6 Edition book, sorry. We are working on a JDK 7 edition probably for sometime in 2011 but no definitive timing to announce as there is no official announcement yet on when the language itself will release.

Coming in February, there is a new book for people new to Java programming:
http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...470889640.html
Java Programming 24-Hour Trainer

It's not a JDK 7 book. The changes between recent JDK versions at the beginner level are minimal enough that you should be able to use it with any version.
