hello guys

      i am making a chatting software in java and i have study this book for a good interface and i have found the sketcher software in the book to be help full in good interface for my software .
      i have download the codes of beg to java 2 edition for jdk1.4 and i compiled these codes but it has many errors and i cannot understand why these errors are comming i am trying on it for many days but i am unable to find out where the problem is. can any of you send me the compiled one, i mean the class files of the codes so i can see the program.

People <i>could</i> send you the class files, but I'm not sure that comparing the bytecode is the easiest way for you to go. p2p is a fairly friendly community, if you posted the errors you were getting and the snippets of code that were causing them I bet someone would be able to help out...

 the problem is with the sketcher class when i compile it shows error like addobserver(java.util.observer) in java .util.observable cannot applied to sketchframe.

i hope you will find out what's the problem is

Can we see the code - just cut and paste what you see in your text editor.

And if you could post the exact output from javac, that'd be handy too.
